Dave Buchanan has been involved in pantomime for forty years, as producer, writer and occasional actor (he particularly enjoyed playing the Dame!) He was founder member of the Newton Stewart Players, then set up his own publishing company, Spotlight Publications, which ran for twenty years from 2000 until Covid came along. At its peak, Spotlight had productions in Europe, North America and Australia – two notable ones by expats in Dar Es Salaam and Beijing. Dave has written sixteen pantomimes, of which Sinbad & the Pirate Queen is the latest.
